We offer 4, 6, and 8 hour fishing trips as well as shelling, sunset and fishing/shelling combo.

Captain Derek’s love for boats and boating has driven him to obtain his captains license. Studying at the United States Maritime Academy (USMA) in Chicago, IL. After graduating he soon relocated to the Florida Keys where he worked for one of the most high end luxury center console boat companies HCB, working as a marine technician Derek also graduated from Marine Mechanics Institute (MMI) in Orlando, FLA although no longer professionally fixing boats he still enjoys side mechanical work.

During his time in the Florida Keys Captain Derek ran a 50ft Corinthian power cat out of two high end resorts Cheeca Lodge & Spa (Islamorada) and Bakers Cay resort (Key Largo). Taking guests to one of many reefs including the famous Alligator Reef Lighthouse, to snorkel some of most crystal clear waters and view a huge number of marine life. Bottlenose Dolphins are Captain Derek’s favorite animal so you can be sure he’s always on the look out for them. Spending several years fishing Captain Derek has taking guest out into the deep blue to catch a fish of a life time, running a 32ft SeaVee out of Bass Pro/World Wide Sportsman (Islamorada) he has crossed of bucket list of fishing for not only him but other guest as well. Putting clients on trophy Mahi, Sailfish, Swords, Tuna, and the list goes on. “I love seeing people’s faces light up when the hook into any fish or view marine life they have never seen before “

When not working Captain Derek enjoys fishing, hockey, music, art, and spending time with friends and family.
